Sam was a little bit embarrassed by what Samulet said, even though he had to admit it was pretty true. He didn’t think he was a better hunter then Bobby or Rufus though. “Do you know how you became a human? You must get that all the time, but it’s not a usual thing.”

“S’okay, Sammy, you can ask me however many times you want.” He smiled up at the hunter, pursing his lips a moment in consideration before shrugging. Maybe it was a witch or something ridiculous like that. Oh, God, what if he’d pissed a witch off, and they’d cursed him and now he has to be human for ever and ever. Oh, God. “Uh.” Samulet blinked, hesitating a moment before his smile returned. “No. I have no idea, it just kind of happened.”

"Huh…. that sounds weird. I don’t think a witch would have that kind of power though, so I’m not sure what could have done it to you. Maybe a demon or an angel?" He offered, trying to be helpful. Maybe it would be better if he didn’t dig deep in to it. Nothing bad was happening now.

“Alright then…. Samulet.” Sam said smiling, pulling away from him. This was something truly something else. Sam had seen magic and miracles happen all the time, but he had never seen an inanimate object turn in to a real life human being. Though he guessed that weirder things happened everyday. He was a little shocked to receive the hug from the item, however, he gladly accepted it. “Um… thank you.Though I’m pretty sure we are the only hunters you have seen.”

Samulet. It was nice when Sam said that. Almost as if the hunter approved of the name the former amulet had chosen for himself. Made him feel kind of… ‘proud’, he supposed the word was. That was new. “Please, Sammy,” he scoffed, “I know I look young and handsome and all, but I’ve seen my fair share. To be honest, though, I don’t really remember most of it. But, still, I’ve seen the hunters you’ve run into, and you’re the best of the lot.”

Sam finally realized who he was talking. “You’re the trinket I gave Dean?” Sam couldn’t believe it, “How did this happened to you?” He pulled and poked at the other. He never even heard about this happening any where else. “Oh…. some pretty interesting things…. mostly a new type a monsters. Nothing we can’t really handle.”

“I prefer the term ‘amulet’. I mean, trinket is kind of demeaning. But, yeah, that’s me!” Samulet giggled a little at the prodding, though batted the younger Winchester’s hands aside; it— what was it called? Tickled? “I don’t know. One moment I’m sitting pretty, the next I’m all flesh and bone. It’s not very pleasant at all…” He gave a small shrug, his smile broadening. “That’s good. Really good! I knew you’d be alright, I did. You’re the best hunters I’ve ever seen.”

“I don’t think any one really could have…. It had to be Adam, Dean, and I who solve it. So don’t worry about it. And that does sound like Cas. He means well, but he can be off putting at times.” He felt good to talk to some one else about  what had happened, even if Sam wasn’t sure how this other guy knew so much, “You didn’t tell me you’re name yet.”

“My name?” He blinked owlishly, before nodding, reaching up to cup Sam’s face between his hands. “I don’t really have a name. Which is kind of rude considering Dean named Baby. I can’t help but feel a little left out, y’know.” He paused a moment, a smile twitching at his lips. “Call me Samulet. But, Sammy. Are you alright? What happened? I wasn’t there to look after the lot of you.”

“That… sucks…. And no we didn’t. We are starting to think that there isn’t one at all.” Sam still didn’t know who this person was, but he figured that he might as well entertain whatever weird ideas came to the other’s mind. The thing that bugged him the most was that he knew so much about his life.

“It did suck. Trust me.” The Samulet’s face fell a little, and he clapped Sam on the arm in an attempt to comfort him. Of course there was a god. Wasn’t there? “I’m sure He’s around somewhere. Castiel was nice. I missed you guys though; he wasn’t as nice as you and Dean. As warm either. But I’m sorry I couldn’t help.”

“I’m sorry…. I don’t know who you are or how you know those things. Why would I listen to you if I have know idea who you are?”

He tipped his head back, struggling to find words. Wasn’t good at this at all. “Oh, oh, oh! Did you guys find God? I mean, I guess the world didn’t end, but I spent most of the Apocalypse being harassed by gulls.”

"That… sucks…. And no we didn’t. We are starting to think that there isn’t one at all." Sam didn’t think he could have gotten more confused then he already was, and yet this man seemed to be doing just that. “What? I would give my brother a person, much less my dad. What the heck are you?”

“No, Sam, you’re not listening. You never listen to me.” He paused before shrugging. “Remember when we were together when Dean was in Hell? That was fun — except the whole Dean being in Hell part, I guess.”

"I’m sorry…. I don’t know who you are or how you know those things. Why would I listen to you if I have know idea who you are?"
